An all-inclusive mini-adventure challenge for all the family. Starting with a short 5km cycle, ruun or walk to Loch Venachar, participants will seek out a number of compulsory checkpoints, many featuring a special themed challenge. For the more adventurous, further more testing checkpoints await, with higher rewards on offer. Return to Callander on bike to join the post-event party and celebrations. The Wee Chase is a magical journey back in time to the wondrous land that Sir Walter Scott encountered in 1809 and, through the creation of his poem Lady of the Lake, spread its beauty across the globe.

The Duathlon Information

 

Bike Hire

Don’t worry if you don’t have a bike. We can provide one for you or you can walk or run.

You will receive a bike hire form in your entry pack.  All you need to do is fill this in and post it back to us and your bike will be waiting for you at the start line.

Bike hire will cost £25 per bike.

The Wee Chase

The sound of a hunting horn, a glimpse of a Stag in the distance – The Wee Chase begins! A gentle cycle from Callander through the trees of Queen Elizabeth Forestry Park and alongside the shore of Loch Venachar will guide you to the second part of the challenge!

The Gathering

Back in Callander participants and spectators will gather together at the end of the race for a medieval themed party to celebrate the completion of The Chase. Food, drinks, re-enactments from the poem and entertainment will forge to create a night to remember.

The Prophesy

Unveiling of the results from the race and prize giving.

The Combat and the Guard Room

Entertainment and re-enactments from the poem will form the evening’s entertainment.
